30% were married before they reached age 20. More than half of those married admitted that they were too young and were forced by difficult circumstance into those marriage.

74% of total estimated illegitimate births are from 15-24 yrs.old. 21% were from 15-19 while 53% are among the 20-24 age bracket.

MATERNAL & INFANT MORTALITY/MORBIDITY


Young women are also likely to give births to babies who are premature, suffering from low birth weight, inborn defects and mental retardation

For married females diminish desire for sex and painful intercource Common problems dysmenorrhea and painful urination Young married youth experience more problems than singles.

PSYCHOSOCIAL
MOST COMMON IMMEDIATE CONSEQUENCES IS FEAR OF PARENTAL REACTIONS. PREMARITAL SEXUAL INTERCOURSE IS HIGHER AMONG OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH & WORKING YOUTH THAN FOR THE IN-SCHOOL RESPONDENCE.
