Introduction
The Grammar Plan Book 2: Tenses is intended as an introductory
book for younger, beginner- and intermediate-level English and ESL
students. The worksheets in this book introduce the following tenses:
Present Tense, Present Continuous Tense, Past Tense, and
Future Tense.
This book is primarily a book of worksheets. Each worksheet, however,
contains explanations and examples of the different grammar points
written in clear, simple English, so that young learners should be able
to understand the content and the instructions without relying on
explanations from the teacher.
The worksheets in The Grammar Plan progress slowly and steadily.
When new or difficult information is presented, the worksheets are
relatively simple, including identification and recognition exercises.
Then, the worksheets become gradually more complex, requiring
learners to understand and apply the grammar points being taught.
As a long-time ESL teacher, I have developed and used these
worksheets in large classes as well as with private, one-on-one
students. The worksheets in this book are very effective at getting
students to understand English grammar without being overwhelmed.
If you find this book useful, try out Book 3: Tenses and More!,
which introduces more advanced English tenses, as well as passive
voice and phrasal verbs, in clear and simple English worksheets.
Good luck, and good grammar!

My Daily Routine
I usually wake up at 7:00 in the morning. I get
dressed and then eat breakfast. I go to school at 8:00,
and then I eat lunch. In the afternoon, I go to English
class, and after school I play basketball with my
friends. At night, I write my homework and eat dinner
with my family. I go to sleep at 10:00.
Now write your own paragraph!

Right now I am studying English. I am sitting in the
classroom with my classmates, and we are reading our
English books. The teacher is sitting at her desk and
watching the students. Jenny and Linda are talking, and
the teacher is watching them. Jason doesnt feel well, so
he is resting with his head on his desk. Class will end soon,
so we are waiting for the bell to ring!
Now write your own paragraph!
Now look around you. Who do you see? What are they doing? What is
happening? Write a short paragraph, and use the Present

Last Weekend
Last weekend was pretty fun. On Saturday, I woke up
early and ate breakfast with my mother. I read a book for
awhile, and then I went to the park with my sister and
played badminton. In the evening, I went out to dinner
with my family. On Sunday, I went to my grandparents
house with my family. I played with their dogs and we
watched TV together. At night, I went back home and
finished my homework, then I took a bath and went to
bed. It was a nice weekend!

Next Weekend
I am excited about next weekend! On Saturday, my
family and I are going to drive to the city and visit my
grandparents. My grandparents have a big dog, so I will
play with the dog outside. In the evening, we will probably
go out for a big dinner. On Sunday, we are going to have a
lot of fun. First, we plan to go to the mountains and go
hiking. Then, we might go see a movie with my aunt and
uncle. At night, we will come home and I will have time to
finish my homework before I go to bed. I think it will be a
lot of fun!
