Writing Strategy
Keeping a journal There are
many kinds of journals you can keep, each having a different purpose. One type of journal is the kind in which you write about daily events and record your thoughts and impressions about these events. Its almost like thinking out loud. By keeping such a journal, you may find that you discover something new that you were not aware of.

Youve been in school for about a month. Youve had a chance to get to know what your courses are like and to become familiar with your teachers. Create a journal entry in which you write about your classes and your teachers. Try to write about your classes the days and times of each, whether there are many or few students, whether the class is big or small, what the class is like, who the teacher is, and what he or she is like. When you have finished, reread your journal entry. Did you discover anything about your courses or your teachers that you hadnt thought of before?
