Evoloid Gearing: Gearing:
Provides excellent efficiency and high power density. 3, 4, 5 tooth parallel axis helical pinions, no undercut, no pointed teeth. Single pass ratios from 7:1 to 22:1. Computerized stress analysis. Mesh efficiencies generally 95+%

Angled Angled Axis (AA) Gearing:


A performance enhancing and more cost effective approach to applications that typically require spiral bevel technology. Axis angles from 0 to 135. Mesh efficiencies of +95%. Patented design permits cutting or grinding of face gear on traditional machinery. Combined with Evoloid pinions, high single pass ratios are achievable, i.e., 7:1 to 22:1.

Convoloid Gearing:
New, patented, non-involute tooth form. Significant improvements in surface durability compared to involute forms. Increase rated power of existing gear system in same housing, or reduce size of present gear drive system for same performance as involute system. Manufacturing processes and sequencing is generally the same as those for involute gearing.

ADL 100 SERIES RIGHT ANGLE GEAR DRIVE SYSTEMS
The ADL 100 series right angle drive is a low cost, quiet, qualified design utilizing a precision worm and worm wheel with a spur gear output pass. MK400 SERIES GEAR DRIVE SYSTEMS

The ASI MK400 series transaxle combines the precision of a single piece casting, which improves the accuracy of gear center distance, with the mounting width flexibility of a two piece casting. This results in improved gear alignment and quieter transaxle performance. Mounting width flexibility is achieved with a separate, fully enclosed, axle extension. Using standard parts, widths from 238.0 mm (9.37 inch) to 355.6 mm (14.00 inch) are available. Utilizing custom tooled parts, widths above 355.6 mm (14.00 inch) are easily achieved. Motors from 76 mm (3.0 inch) to 101 mm (4.0 inch) diameter are compatible. All MK400 transaxles have fully enclosed axle systems. To emphasize, unlike competitor units, the axles on the 101 mm (4.0 inch) diameter motor version are completely enclosed. Ratios from 12.0:1 to 21.0:1 are available to meet your transaxle performance requirements. Systems include motor, electro-magnetic brake, harnessing, connectors, gear reduction and differential in one easy-to-install package. MK 85 SERIES 24 VOLT GEAR DRIVE SYSTEMS

The MK 85 incorporates high strength gearing in our standard die cast housing. Vehicle weights up to 1500 lbs and speeds of up to 12 mph are possible due to the large ratio variations offered by this unique and compact drive system. Motor, electro-magnetic brake, harnessing, connectors, gear reduction and differential are included in one easy-to-install package. Detailed on this sheet are standard units. Case Study B10 Stairlift drive system


ASI Designs system to eliminate components and reduce cost
Application - A stairlift is a mechanical device for lifting up and down stairs. For sufficiently wide stairs, a rail is mounted to the treads of the stairs. A chair is attached to the rail. A person on the chair is lifted as the chair moves along the rail. History - There is evidence that the stairlift was first used by King Henry VIII. The 30 stone (420 Lb) king, injured through jousting, used a chair that was hauled up and down stairs on a block and tackle system by servants at the ancient Whitehall Palace in London. Power - Early stairlifts mostly had alternating current (AC) drive motors which ran at full main voltage. An "energy cable" ran alongside or through the rail to carry the power from the supply point to the carriage. More recently, stairlifts have been powered from rechargeable batteries and use direct current (DC). One of the selling points is that a DC stairlift will continue to function during a power outage. In addition, the current draw of the battery charger is low enough that a dedicated AC circuit is not needed, making installation much easier and less expensive to the end customer.

Original system The customer purchased from different vendors the following catalog standard parts; gearbox, motor, and brake. Then they designed custom brackets, a custom shaft and a custom gear. All of these parts were assembled in house by the customer. The resulting assembly was heavy, complicated to assemble and expensive.

ASI Technologies system ASI looked at their design


and application and from that designed and developed a complete drop-in system. ASI used a 4-pole brush motor. The gearing consists of two passes. The first pass is a right angle worm set. The second pass is a parallel axis helical gear set. Mounted on the output shaft is a spur gear that interfaces with the customers rack. The ASI system eliminated all drive system assembly labor for the customer. The ASI system was less expensive, lighter, and more efficient. By integrating the custom brackets into the gearbox housing the ASI system eliminated assembly labor, hardware and part numbers. This made the drive more reliable, stronger, quieter, and easier to purchase, at a much lower total cost to the customer.
