Danayou know how I am always talking about process vs. content?

This is an amazing exampleand I really appreciate you sharing it with me. What I mean is that the content - your specific response about a word or what you 'wrote' in the reflection comment to me is insignificant compared to the process you went through in thinking about all this information. To me, the process is vastly more meaningful and important. If you were able to get something out of the process, then that is a success. Your comment at the end about 'that's what learning is all about, right?' is spot on. Please rest assured that I am invested only in the process of the learning that comes from the class- the content of the discussion is only valuable to the extent that it informs the process, and I am not concerned with what was said specifically in your reflection in terms of content. let me know if you have any questions about this, otherwise I hope you have a great rest of the week! Hi Kira! I am writing to offer some explanation for my reflection that I turned in yesterday. After re-reading what I had reflected on in Chapter 9 I was not happy with what I wrote/turned in to you. I just feel that I took the chapter way too literally and do not think my reflection showed much thought or insight on what I truly fee regarding diversity and education. As I took the 1 page discussion on Hinduism quite factually, I find it funny that I was able to base a whole comparison on American learners and Hindu learners! When I read this reflection over I feel I was generalizing way too much in regards to both cultures. Just because I see many American adult learners seeking to gain higher employment statuses and higher incomes does not mean that is the goal for all Western adult learners. I just dont think my assumption was just. Also, I touched upon the concept of enlightenment in Hinduism when I do not even know the meaning or purpose of being enlightened! So to discuss this as if I knew what all adult learners were seeking in the Hindu culture is an unfair assumption. I appreciated our class conversation because it allowed me to balance out my thoughts on diversity and learning and almost wonder if I could compare the similarities over the differences! I wanted to take the time to explain myself and my reflection because it really did not express my thoughts or insight on this topic and I feel almost embarrassed for what I wrote down! I guess that is what learning is all about, right? I just dont want to come off so close-minded so wanted to express how I felt. Thanks!
