TAFE Pathways – Photography

Central TAFE (Perth) offers a variety of
courses based around photography. These
include:

Advanced Diploma of Photography

A two semester (one year) course intended to
instruct on various photographic techniques
and development.

Cost: $570 ($285 concession)

Certificate IV In PhotoImaging
This two semester (one year) course provides
students with a knowledge of photography skills, as
well as digital image management skills and
Cost: $570 ($285 concession)

Creative Photography – Basic

This course runs for 30 hours over ten weeks. It
instructs on the use of cameras along with basic
elements and principles of design.
Cost: $290

Diploma of Photo-Imaging
This course will further developing the
students skills in photography and photo
imaging. It also provides business and
communication skills.

University Pathways – Photography

Some universities in Australia also offer
photography-related qualifications, usually
as part of a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Photojournalism– BA of Fine Arts

La Trobe University offers this three year
elective as part of its Fine Arts degree. It is
intended to combine aspects of regular
photography with new techniques that must
be applied to the medium of photojournalism.

Bachelor of Arts(Photography)
This Three Year Charles Sturt University degree
covers many aspects of photography, from fine-art to
commercial. Its graduates will leave with a knowledge
of aesthetic elements and principles, a critical and
historical knowledge of photography and strong
practical skills across many photographic mediums.
