Song and Music

Finally ive become bold enough to attempt a quiz of my own. This is a first time for me
so bear with me.

1. This was a music group formed in the 1980’s. Their genre of music could loosely
be classified as Alternative/Progressive Rock. Their founder worked as a sound
engineer for another famous group. Name the music group he founded.

2. This is the famous group who had the guy above as their sound engineer. The title
of one of their popular albums sounds incredibly similar to the title of one
instrumental pieces by the group above. (This is the only album
name/instrumental piece between these two groups that sounds similar.) Name the
famous album and the instrumental piece. The album title is a slang word for
sexual intercourse in the group’s native country.

3. This song was probably the most famous one composed for any American
poetess. It was widely regarded as this artist’s biggest hit and includes the lady’s
first name in the last few lines of the song.

4. An easy one-The song has a fascinating story, where the composer and the
poet who penned the song were inspired by a beautiful girl passing their
favourite café. (OR) This picture is associated with a famous song. Name the
song.

5. This is a popular Brazilian martial art form (and probably the only Brazilian
martial art form) that is the title of a song sung by a famous American jazz
fusion artist. (ie the song and the martial art form both have the same
name). Name the song title/martial art form.
6. Mona Lisa Smile was a popular movie that had a main theme that had lot to
do with women’s liberation etc. However, there was a certain ignominious
irony to this movie’s music score. What was it?
