What is Automation? Automation is defined as any means of helping the workers perform their tasks more efficiently. In automation the human participation is replaced by mechanical or electrical technologies. Why automation ? By the automation the operations are done uniformly and effectively which attain better accuracy and finish.

What is automats? Automats are machine tools in which the components are machined automatically. The working cycle is fully automatic that is repeated to produce duplicate parts without participation of the operator

CAM CONTOLLED AUTOMATS means automaticity is achieved by mechanical means using cam drives. The operating cycle is automatically controlled with the help of a cam shaft carrying cams which are linked to the operative mechanism (slides, feeding and clamping mechanism ) through a system of levers, gears etc.

TYPES In accordance with their cycle control, the cam controlled automats may be grouped in to three categories are follows 1.automats have a single cam shaft which rotates at constant speed for the given setup and which control both working and idle motions.

TYPES 2.This categories have also only one cam shaft but it has two speed of motions. Slow for working motions and fast for idle motions. 3.this categories have one cam shaft for working motion which rotates at slow speed and a high speed auxiliary cam shaft for activating the idle motions.
