WHY JOIN THE WWWCaA BOARD? maricopa county Because you care about your community and know that helping individuals succeed has a direct impact on making our community a better place to live and work. Based on your knowledge, experience and commitment to helping in our community, | believe you will make a significant contribution to the Board of Directors of the YWCA. The Board of Directors has responsibility for the YWCA as a corporation and: = Maintains the YWCA as autonomous, non-profit organization with an established Mission. = Elects the officers of the YWCA to include President, President-Elect, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. = Establishes the programs of the YWCA, with consultation from the CEO, and the planning process by which it is determined. = Determines those matters to be presented at board meetings for review and discussion and those matters to be submitted for vote. = Raises funds to ensure the fiscal stability/sustainability of the YWCA administration and its services and programs. Events are designed so that if each member does a little, it adds up to a lot. Within the frame- work of the YWCA Maricopa County’s current budget, the United Way allocation accounts for 13% of total revenues - fundraising accounts for approximately 50%.
