General Information Description

The HSAP Math Course is designed to help you review the material that will be covered on the math portion of the SC High School Assessment Program. This course will cover topics such as fractions, decimals, percents, problem solving, integers, order of operations, exponents, ratios, geometry, statistics, and various other math topics. Mandatory weekly lessons attendance is also a part of this course. If you cannot attend, the lesson on Monday, please listen to the recording.

(This will be a grade in this course). Complete quizzes and exams successfully (70 or higher) Stay on pace. Completing 2 lessons per week. Ask for help when you need it.

Math Department Reset Policy

1) Reset only items below 60% if the student has demonstrated understanding of the topic by either: (1) attending tutoring with the teacher. (2) viewing the recorded lesson for the assessment. (3) correctly completing reinforcement questions in the textbook. 2) Only one reset per assessment. 3) The teacher will decide when (within the course) assessments can be reset. 4) If a part/course is completed with a failing grade, then assessments at or above a 60% may be reset and assessments may be reset multiple times to pull a grade up to passing.

E-Mail Procedure

Always include the following in every e-mail o To: o Subject: (be specific if applicable, include course, part, unit and lesson o Greeting o Body of Message o Signature (be sure to include your school contact information) All short answer questions should be answered. If they are left blank, students will be required to retake the quiz or exam All work should be shown where possible for short answer questions. If no work is shown and the answer is incorrect a zero will be given. It is possible that partial credit can be achieved by showing your work. Graphing should be completed in one of the following ways: o Use a computer to generate your graph. Save the document and attach it to the specific question in the portal. o Graph the problem on paper. Take a picture of the graph (using a digital camera or camera phone), save it and attach it to the problem in the portal.
