Required materials: Workout clothes, (shorts, T-shirt, sweat pants, TENNIS SHOES, extra socks and an old pair of junk sneakers are handy to have for those early morning dews that can ruin nice tennis shoes*) A combination lock and locker will be provided for each student. Each student is responsible for the security of their own personal items.

* Students who have asthma are required to have their inhalers or other medications with them in class.
Grading is based on a 10 point per day system. Students can lose daily participation points for: Insubordination- multiple points, ( instructors discretion) Being tardy to class- loss of 2 points Not being dressed to participate=O points for the day Sitting out of daily activity, ( without Drs. note/ injury/major sickness) will result in zero points for that day. Notes from home will be considered for the students condition for class that day. Notes from home will not EXCUSE the student from class that day. The student will be expected to participate in some capacity for class that day. Example: A student has hurt his/her hand and cant fully participate in gym that day and has a note from home asking me to excuse them from gym. I would handle this situation as follows: perhaps this student can be a scorekeeper or assist me in some other class procedure for that day rather than sit out of gym on the sidelines.

EXCUSED absences do not have to be made up. If a student is absent, he/she will not receive a grade for that day. They will NOT get a zero for being absent. If a student does not dress for class or refuses to participate in class he/she will receive a O for the day. These O days CAN NOT be made up and are lost points for the student. This is a participation class so it is important that all students try their best each day and do what they can. Activities: 1. Each class period will start with a 5-10 min. warm-up/stretching period. 2. Sport skills will be taught and practiced. 3. Competitive sports include: Flag football, softball, soccer, volleyball, floor hockey, pickleball, Team Handball, and various invasion games, i.e-Ultimate Frisbee. 4.
