Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words.*(This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.) Learning Objectives: Students will participate in a smartboard version of around the world using both the audio and visual methods of identifying both the sounds and the physical letters correctly with a 8 out of 12 accuracy in 2 of 3 trials. Time Learning Activities and Purpose
Orientation/Engagement/Motivation: Yesterday we reviewed the sounds of the letters /s/, /g/, and /k/, today we will discuss Today we will continue with our review with the sound of the letters /b/, /f/, and /v/. once again you will need this I order to read and write. Presentation/Explicit Instruction:

Remind them that yesterday they learned that in every word there are three types of sounds: the beginning, the middle, and the end. Let them know that todays we will be reviewing the sounds of the letters- /b/, /f/, and /v/. Verbally review the sounds of both the letters from yesterday and the ones from today.
Structured Practice/Exploration:

Use the game that they played in the last lesson where they will pick the a word at random and identify the beginning, middle, or end sound of the word, when the students response is correct, the student will be given a bean bag with the letter on it to throw in either the beginning, middle, or end sound containers, labeled beginning, middle, or end. Student will say the sound of the letter as they are throwing the beanbag into the appropriately labeled bucket.

Using a SmartBoard program by hitting a sound icon button on the program will say the sound of the letters. The students will quiz each other one student will say the letter and the other will repeat the sound. Independent Practice/Application: Using the same smartboard system an array of letter and sound clips will appear on the board, the students will play around the world practicing and using that sound to letter and letter to sound recognition. Closure: Today we learned that about the sounds that /b/, /f/, and /v/ make. Adding on to our list of sounds that letters make, tomorrow we will discuss another three letters and reviewing our sounds.
