Describes a simple food web with at least 5 parts. The food web includes the sun and a plant (or other producer). Clearly explains the connection between the parts (interdependence). Describes the basic features of the habitat including at least one challenge that makes it hard for plants and animals to survive. Identifies an adaptation from a living thing in the habitat and clearly explains how the adaptation helps the living thing survive in this unique habitat.

Partial Understanding
Describes how living things in the habitat are able to get 4 or more of their basic needs. Gives examples of one or two. Describes a simple food web with at least 5 parts. The food web includes the sun and a plant (or other producer). Attempts to explain the connection between the parts (interdependence). Describes basic features of the habitat but cannot identify a challenge living things in that habitat face. Identifies an adaptation from a living thing in the habitat but cannot clearly explain how the adaptation helps the living thing survive in this unique habitat.
