Your Name: Sarah Rosenthal Advisor: Mr. Chris Thomas Were you in MS Lead? Yes or No X What has been your greatest success to date? I received the award for most outstanding English student in the Middle School. What has been your greatest challenge? I struggle with balancing my advanced classes with sports and managing my success and grades. In your own words, define leadership. Leadership is providing a role model for other to look up to. Also, it is being able to motivate and encourage people towards a greater good. List the leadership characteristics you most admire in others? I admire their ability to persuade people to a certain opinion that is unpopular yet necessary. What social issues are of interest to you and why? I am interested in the spectators of the world, the countries that allow other humans to be dictated and tortured. Also, I am interested in universal healthcare and how it impacts everyone in our nation. In your opinion, what are the challenges that leaders face today? They face problems with the ethics of when to intervene and when to stand by, They face the challenge of creating productive solutions to end dictatorships and the mistreatment of innocent civilians. How do you define success? I define success as achieving personal goals set by oneself that are specific to that person. How do you define failure? I define failure as the inability to achieve a personal goal and then not altering the goal to make it attainable. Why do you wish to participate in The C. Kyser Miree Ethical Leadership Center? I believe that through the empowerment of this organization I can help my community and make it a better place. What personal characteristic or passion sets you apart from your peers? Explain. I am determined to make good grades and be successful; as a result I demand more of myself and stress myself. Also, I have a passion for medicine and the medical community. Please include any additional information you feel the Steering Committee should know. I tend to make my own timetables for long term projects in order to make sure they work with my schedule but I can be flexible with different timetables.
