American Society for Microbiology at UCF General Meeting Minutes Date: August 29, 2013 Location: HPA II Room

345 Meeting started at 6:30 PM. President, Christopher Grube, welcomed all members and explained what ASM is. He highlighted that we are the only non-premed Registered Student Organization (RSO) that caters to biological science majors and anyone with an interest in microbiology. The president also mentioned the growing size of the organization. The president then introduced himself on a personal note explaining who he is, why he was attracted to the organization, and his research experience. Next, the vice president, Aaron Ledray, introduced himself and his job as vice president. The secretary, Patrick Anoos, explained his position and his excitement for the club. The treasurer and events coordinator, Peter Tracy and Andrew Kettring, introduced themselves to the members and talked of their roles in ASM. It should be noted that our sergeant-at-arms, Michael Gravestein, was not able to make it to the meeting today. The former president, Alisha Kellner, also introduced herself asking, Who here doesnt know me? She explained her past role as president of ASM and the a id and advice she provides for ASM today. The president took the podium once again and spoke of ASMs future events including guest speakers, laboratory tours, workshops, fundraisers, and the General Microbiology reviews. Special note was taken to remind members that dues can be paid today or in the following meetings and members should help themselves to pizza and soda. Meeting ended at around 7:15 PM.
