ABOUT OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

Conley
ANGIE CONLEY Owner Scrub University and TLC In-Home Care, Inc.
Angie Conley is the proud owner of not one, but two businesses that she started from the ground up all while balancing family and becoming an active member of the community. Angies experience illustrates how women can be successful in their business enterprise and family life. Angie graduated with her LVN degree from Howard College, Big Spring, in 1997, and received her RN the next year. She began her nursing career at Shannon Medical Hospital, and in 2001 she went to work for Nurses Unlimited, promoting to RN Supervisor.

In 2004, Angie decided to start her first company to meet a need she recognized in the local home health industry. She opened the doors to TLC In-Home Care, Inc. in 2005 as the second in-house client of Concho Valley Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CVCED The Business Incubator) with two employees. She now has 84 employees at TLC, and serves on the board for the CVCED. Angie was selected as the Woman to Watch by the San Angelo Business and Professional Womens Club in 2005. In June 2008, Angie launched a public assistance campaign to collect donations for one of her client families who lost everything in a home fire. After spending four years incubating TLC, Angie saw another unmet need in the community, and opened a complementary business venture. In 2009, she opened Scrub University, the premier local retailer for medical scrubs, clogs and other nursing accessories. She is the proud sponsor of Pink Floyd, the giant pink gorilla that guards her businesses and draws interest from everyone that travels down Sherwood Way. Angie has been married to her husband, Darrin, for 20 years, and considers her biggest personal accomplishments to be her children. Her daughter Jordan is currently a junior at Angelo State University, and her son Ryan, a junior at Central High School.

Maciejewski
LISA MACIEJEWSKI President, Gold Star Medical Business Services
Lisa has been involved in the medical billing, management and consulting field since 1982. Prior to starting Gold Star Medical, she worked as a consultant and business coach with one of the largest Practice Management consulting firms in the country. Lisa left the company in 2009, holding the position of Senior Executive Consultant. For 10 years, she consulted with thousands of doctors as a practice management coach, and spoke at over 100 seminars throughout the United States, both as a teacher and motivational speaker.

In 2006 the concept of Gold Star Medical Business Services was born, as a way to provide a home-based job for her then disabled husband. Lisa competed in, and won, the 2006 Business Plan Competition from San Angelos Concho Valley Center for Entrepreneurial Development. The grant that was awarded gave Lisa the seed money to make Gold Star a reality. Since 2006, the company has continued to steadily grow. Because of Lisas background working with people with disabilities, 60% of Gold Stars employees are individuals with physical handicaps. Lisa is currently working hand in hand with the TX Workforce Commission and DARS to develop an online school for Medical Billing that will allow more people to complete the training necessary to become a Gold Star billing representative, or work in many other medical billing capacities. In 2010 Gold Star Medical won the Texas Governors Employer of the Year award in the Small Business Category. In 2011, Gold Star was given an Economic Development Award from the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, and Lisa was named the 2011 Women in Business Champion through the Small Business Administration. Lisa is the proud mother of two children, Jeffrey, who will be a 7th grader at Glenn middle school, and Andrea, a junior at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
