Exhilarating Enrichment Clusters

Lets Get Ready to CLUSTER!!!

Enrichment Clusters are


Interest-based clubs Groups of cross-grade level children who have fun working with a pair of teachers in an interest- based,specialized area to produce areal-world product, presentation or service. An avenue to promote higher level thinking, cooperation, and self-worth

How Are Clusters Formatted?


Time is already built into our master schedule

Day 4 from 9:30-10:15 am

K-5 clusters take place at the same time AND on the same day
All adults in the building sponsor a cluster. Teachers pair up with another teacher to share responsibilities. May look like

2 adults per cluster 23 clusters /25 students per cluster

Cluster Composition
K&1 2&3

4&5

2 teachers co-plan, co-teach, and co-sponsor club. Each cluster will contain about 25 students.

Frequency of Meetings
5 sessions
Friday, October 11th Monday, October 21st Tuesday, October 29th Thursday, November 7th Monday, November 18th

Cluster Time
9:25-9:30 am: Transition to Meeting Zones 9:30-10:10 am: Cluster Time 10:10-10:15 am: Dismiss back to Meeting Zones & head back to homerooms. 10:25 am: First CONNECT class & classroom instruction begins

Media Center: K & 1
Cafeteria: 2 & 3 Gym: 4 & 5

Established to ensure safety & supervision


Members of Admin Team to help with supervision Zones will be labeled with each cluster.

Materials & Supplies


PTA will reimburse $50 per cluster. Keep receipts and submit them to PTA for reimbursement of materials & supplies purchased for cluster use.

Spring 14 Session
Keeps things fresh (for both students AND adults!)
Gives students a chance to experience more than
one cluster throughout the year

Offers teachers a chance to host a different cluster


or sponsor the same cluster with different students

Provides teachers with a chance to reflect upon


their experiences

Your Next Steps


Survey your class to find out what they are interested in! Submit your class TOP 5 wishes for Enrichment Clusters to Ms. Pagano by September 17th. Think about which staff member you would like to partner with. (All hands on deckteachers, support staff, assistants, etc..) Be sure to frequently check your email for upcoming info about clusters!
