The Reynolds Academy

In the Reynolds family home, Austin and Heather Reynolds have been homeschooled since 8th and 5th grade (respectively). Jamie and Rachael Reynolds, the parents, chose to use the ABEKA curriculum from Pensacola Christian Academy in educating their children. One of the features of the ABEKA curriculum is the option of watching videos of teachers in Pensacola Christian Academy teach to a group of students in a normal classroom. This allows the homeschooler to be taught by an expert in a specific subject and to hear other students ask and answer questions. Jamie and Rachael Reynolds encouraged their children to get involved in activities in their community and their church. Austin and Heather Reynolds both participated in various types of community service. Heather Reynolds was a part of the Alice Lloyd College choir, Voices of Appalachia, for two semesters.

She also helped at an elementary school as a teachers aide for one school year.
