President Benigno S.

Aquino III Manila, NCR Philippines

Dear President Aquino, I would like to congratulate you on your State of the Nation Address last July 22, 2013.I am very grateful with the improvements in the Philippines. I appreciate all the things that you did for the country. You said that this is your fourth SONA, two more remaining and that you are aware of the challenges facing your leadership. In my opinion, that is a good attitude towards your job. As a Filipino, I am very happy on your attitude and your leadership. I would like to tell you that I thank you for helping and leading our country for a better future. Based on your SONA, I can see the development especially on education and health services. On the other hand, I dont agree with the increase of fares in MRT and LRT. Even though I study in University of the Philippines, Los Banos, I still ride the MRT and LRT for some instances. I think that 15 Pesos per ride is enough because there are so many passengers of LRT and MRT in a day. People these days consider riding the MRT and LRT for a faster travel for their work and schools. That 15-peso ride to school or work is the cheapest and safest way to get to their destination. If we were to increase the fare, some might shift on riding jeepneys and buses instead of the MRT and LRT which is a favor on some jeepney and bus drivers but not on ordinary citizens riding the MRT and LRT all the time. In summary, I would like to thank you for all the contributions in our country. May you continue to serve the nation with all your heart and may God Bless you on your two more years in serving the people of the Philippines. Sincerely, Justine Mae Atendido Membrido BS in Human Ecology, University of the Philippines, Los Banos
