Strengths

Weaknesses

The learners can easily understand in adding and subtracting integers The student can easily visualize the number line in which the student may able to identify the negative and positive numbers by the colors assigned and for the center as well. The student can boast their interest for that particular subject and many of them will participate. Same as the puzzle game the students are willing to participate. The students can easily determine the value in measuring using the said tools or IMs The students are focusing to describe an object not to define it.

Marbles

This is only applicable for those students who are really interested to learn for those who are fast learners. There are parts which are confusing and also the attention spans are not fully focus. There are some distracters in their surroundings.

Geometry puzzle games

What instructional materials are not currently used by the teacher but are being explored and are expected to be of great help in the teaching and learning of the subject? The teacher stresses out the lack of instructional materials to be used in class. She mentioned actual object representing shapes and solids, media technology such as laptop, LCD, and video clips as the instructional materials not currently used by the teacher but are being explored and are expected to be of great help in the teaching and learning of the subject.

TIPS (Please ask the teacher of any recommendation/advise s/he can give on how you can best maximize the use of instructional materials in teaching a subject.) 1. To best maximize the use of instructional materials in teaching subject, students learning capability and lesson to be tackled will be considered in selecting IM.

Part 2. Using MS Word, make a creative interpretation of the things you have learned from this interview.

Instructional materials play important role in teaching. It aids learning and gives life to a subject matter in a way that learners could have a meaningful learning through its help. Teachers cannot teach very well without teaching aids. But then, based on the interview us Mathematics student conducted, not all lessons in math where teachers use instructional material during classroom discussions. It is due to the unavailability of materials, expensive cost and even uninterested use of materials in teaching. Also I found out that the teacher uses more instructional materials to average and low learners students compared to top classes. And the more the teacher uses the material in supplementing the lessons, active and participative students, fast understanding of the lessons and problems, and easier formula derivation is being observed by the teacher among student. Most importantly, I learned that it is very much important to consider your learners, their interest and learning capability in choosing and using such instructional materials because ones you hit the interest of the students and eventually them able to learn best. In general, teaching aids have great impart in teaching because they aid students to comprehend lessons and teachers to present the lessons well to the students.
