Math Binder Students will be required to keep a math binder for class. Math binders will contain the following sections: 1. Class Notes: this section will contain any resources and notes given in math class. 2. Homework: this section will contain graded homework and math minutes. 3. Tests and Quizzes: this section will contain graded quizzes and tests. 4. Accelerated Math: tops reports for practices and tests. 5. ISAT: Information, practices, resources and samples for ISAT testing. Parents please ask to see the binder to check student progress. Homework Students should expect math homework which may include reviewing major concepts each night. Students are expected to put their full name, date, class period, and the assignment on ALL assignments. It is important for students to use proper headings on papers. Late work will result in a lower score and will not be accepted after two days. Homework is found on the JH Homework link on the MGS homepage. Tests A pretest/study guide will be completed with each content area. The pretest/study guide is the guideline for the final assessment. Make sure to complete, correct, review and practice the pretest/study guides before the test. Use the tools provided to perform well on the assessment. Accelerated Math: Required and Extra Credit Accelerated Math is a great tool for review, skill building, and enrichment. Students work on an individual level whether it is at a moderate or fast pace. The students will be required to complete three practices and three tests for each midterm and quarter throughout the school year. Due dates for these practices and tests will be posted in the classroom and on the JH homework link. Any practices or tests (with a passing score of 70%) completed over the requirement, will count for extra credit points in both the assignment and test category. Three points for each test and practice can be earned. Extra credit points will be recorded at midterm and quarter. Grading Policy In class work: this includes any start up activities such as math minutes Participation: this includes completion points for homework Assignments: this includes quizzes or assignments with a percentage grade Tests: this includes any tests given, including Accelerated Math Tests

Class Rules Every rule in our classroom involves respecting yourself and others, and being responsible for words and actions. A Special Note I am available most days before school, after school, and during study hall. Students can make arrangements to meet with me if they have any questions, need clarification, or just need to talk. Students have the responsibility to communicate with the teacher if they need assistance. This page of information needs to be placed in the front of the students math binder for the remainder of the year.
