To study the effectiveness fo the simulation model in teaching physics to standard XI students throuhg computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) Objectives : 1) To find out th effectiveness of the simulation model of teaching as computer to the traditional method. 2) To utilise the growing use fo computer in education.
Methodology : The sample for this investigation consisted of students of standard XI of the two schools selected pre-test post-test method was used. Mean, S.D. & "T" test were used to treat the data.
Major Findings : 1) The experimental group obtained a higher mean them the control group. 2) 3) The sex wise comparison proved to be insignificant. There was no significant difference in learning level between Tamil medium & English medium students. 4) On the basis of the research findings, it was concluded that the experimental groups performed significantly better than the control group. They found that students taught through software package significantly did better than those taught throuhg conventional mehtod. 2) Mahajan (1994) " Studies the effectiveness of computer instruction for teaching singular & plural at grade 2, and found CAI to be more effective than the traditional method. 3) Shah & Agarwal (1994) : conducted a research study to evaluate teachers, attitude towards computer education as well as computer Assisted Instruction (CAI). They ground attitude positive in all the groups, though female teacher showed more positive attitude towards CAI. 4) Biswal (1995) Studied for his Ph.D. work the development of computer based time space personal management system (TSPMS). He found that the manual system was quite poor in comparison to computer generated TSPMS, In helptled created different formats, & in generating co-curricular timetable. It helped in even distribution of working load on teachers. 5) Agarwal (1995) : for his Ph.D. work undertook a comparative study of conceptual understanding by programmed learning & CAI & that both were very effective however PI was found better than CAI for students wiht lesser IQ. CAI was found to be better than PI for students of higher IQ & for students of higher socio-economic strata.
