KEY SWITCH

This is mechanical part when slide / pressed, it makes the current to flow through it . If the switch is released , the current stop flowing through it . This help to control the circuit . It may be on/off switch or push -toon switch . Switches are needed (i) to switch power to circuits ( ii) to pass electrical signals to selective parts of a composite circuit ( iii) to switch one among several component part into a common circuit . A switch comprises of a fixed and a moving contact essentially. But these are switches which may have several contacts in one assembly .

Switches that are used to supply the power to a circuit to power switches . When power is passed through the switch contacts , they must be suitably rated to handle the current passed , at the applied voltage. Switches are generally of the Follwing types . 1. Rocker or toggle switches . 2. Rotary switches 3. Key switches 4. Push button switches.
