If the dream is in black and white then that specifies a depressed or saddened mood. The feelings that are shown throughout the day are usually seen in the dream. Traumatic experiences can also affect a dream. There are no differences in male and female dream patterns while in the dream state. But there is a difference between their content of the dream. Animals have the same brain activity during sleep, therefore they must dream.

DREAM THEORY Sigmund Freud- Freud believes that nothing you do occur by chance. The actions and thoughts people have are provoked when asleep because they usually do not release their feelings during the day. Therefore, they are shown in dreams. Freud has three parts of dreams, Id, Ego, and Superego. These sects allow a person to express their feelings and actions that they would usually not show in the real world. Freud thinks that the reason people cannot remember their dreams is because the superego is protecting the mind from troubling images. He also believes that dreams have a manifest and latent meaning. Freud supposes that sexual content is the main root that occurs in dreams. Alfred Adler- Adler believes that dreams are an important tool to mastering control over the waking lives. He thinks that real life situations and problems are shown in dreams so that people can better understand the problem and try to solve it. Adler also believes that control, power, and motivation are the things that show your behavior and dreams. People are more likely to show their feelings, emotions, and actions through their dreams.

Carl Jung- Jung believes in the existence of the unconscious. He sees dreams as spiritual way to communicate and show feelings. He expresses that dreams can be viewed as pair opposites. How they act in dreams are their shadow of themselves and the parts in real life they do not want to show. He also believes that the images seen in dreams show something about themselves, relationships with others, and real life situations that they are going through. Fredrick Perls- Perls believes that dreams contain the rejected, disowned parts of the self. He thinks that every character and object in a dream represents the person having the dream. He believes that people should retell their dream in present tense and act out every character and object. This will help recognize the feelings that the person has ignored. TYPES OF DREAMS Dreams about being chased means that the person who is dreaming has a lot of feelings of anxiety. The person who is being chased means that they avoid the situation in real life. DREAM ANALYSIS SUMMER: WHAT DID YOU LEARN? Reoccurring themes in my dreams are usually about the summer, events that happened that day, or a couple days before. I dream about those things because I look forward to them, or I want to replay something that happened. I have had some dreams about the teen tour I am going on this summer. I am dreaming about that because Ive been filling out paperwork for it recently, and have been talking to people going on the same trip. I have learned a couple of things from keeping a dream diary. Since I usually do not remember my dreams, the dreams that I am able to remember I can put in the dream diary. I can go back and reread the dreams I had and see if there is a reoccurring theme. If there is, I can look up what it represents. I can also see if reoccurring objects or people are in it and see what they symbolize.
