Summary

The production of Alentejos pigs has gained a new importance in the last years, due to the increasing demand of gourmet products, like meat and other products. These pigs are raised in rotary systems, semi-extensive or extensive, in which we can associate the outer exploration food resource. The Aeromonas bacteria have been considered, lately, as emerging pathogenic agents, with relevance to Mankind and other animals. In animals there are several references to infections caused by the Aeromonas bacteria, although it hasnt been found any reference regarding infections in pigs. In a study made by vora University, regardin g the Alentejos pig pathologies, were collected to distinct, and subjected to a necrpsico exam, a bacteriological analysis and a sensitivity test to antimicrobianos agents. In the two samples, the anatmopatolgico exam revealed septic injuries and the bacteriological analysis identified the Aeromonas hydrophyl bacteria, isolated in a pure culture, from several organs. As to the antimicrobianos agents test, the bacteria taken from sample 1 as shown sensitivity t o gentaminina, oxitetraciclina, neomicina, enrofloxacina, colistina sulfate, trimetoprim, cetiofur, amoxicilina and clavunnico acid. On the other hand the number 2 sample only showed sensitivity to enrofloxacina. In this study, the Aeromonas hydrophyla was isolated from a pure culture, from several animal organs. This fact is a strong indication that the death of this animals was caused by this microbiano agent. The importance of this report, is reinforced by the high resistance of this bacteria to antimicrobianos agents.
