A Bright Horizon
Though there are many situations currently taking place in our nation, there is still plenty of room for a bright future. Weve been through bad times before and were still here. This country has survived a Revolutionary War against the worlds most powerful nation on our own territory. Weve survived a Civil War that split our nation in half and a decade long Great Depression. Weve even been on the edge of being annihilated along with the rest of the world with Russias and our nuclear weapons pointed at each other, but our nation has come through. Why should it be any different now? Since the birth of our nation we have been fighting for total equality among races, sexes, and religions. Despite the continuing clash between the traditional and the secular, the nation, through its independent courts and help from governmental decentralization, the country remains the freest society in human history. Because of our government, we still retain our Super Power status. The people of the U.S. are the real heart of our country. Through our education system, we have a large and literate population, willing to work. With education becoming more available, there is plenty of opportunity for people to receive a proper education that dont. Although American secondary education is still in need of improvement, our universities remain a beacon to talent. We may move slowly, but we eventually adjust. What Winston Churchill said about Americans, Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing after they have exhausted all other possibilities. As a nation we have a terrible habit of waiting until a crisis strikes before we take decisive action. Weaknesses? Sure we have them, but we shouldnt disregard our nations truly massive strengths.
