Megan Vazana Logan Arnold Sam Isken Ian Lustila Party: The Gold Party Candidate: Logan Arnold

The following polls show that Georgia is a republican state but is pretty evenly split. This led the Gold party to base our political ideology to fairly accommodate the majority of republicans but also please the democratic constituents. http://politix.topix.com/election/marietta-ga 5 Issues with polls: All of these issues directly deal with the Founding Fathers ideals on liberty, equality, democracy, civic duty, individual responsibility, or any of the other core political culture beliefs. They all revolve around the original beliefs and morals of the founding fathers. It would definitely be fair to say that many of these issues could all find some form of agreement on the political culture that these issues stand on but disagreement on how they are carried out in society. Obviously members of different social classes, races, genders, and regions feel differently about your chosen issues. For example any of the demographics in which dont support the war wouldnt believe in passing a bill that benefits the veterans. Or older and wealthy people might not favor aiding people in paying their utilities by having to pay more taxes. The people in Marietta Georgia are majorly consisted of religious Christians. This leads to more conservative political ideologies and opinions on political and social issues. We based our political ideology on the majority of citizens in Marietta Georgia. The area is heavy on younger Americans who most likely have more liberal views on social issues but because of the strong conservative influences we decided to support a lot of conservative views. The political planks of The Gold Partys ideas are loosely based on republican ideals with a few independent ideas on social issues.

1. Bill to help recovering veterans http://mdjonline.com/view/full_story/23932673/article-New-court-in-central-Ga--aims-tohelp-veterans?instance=secondary_story_left_column

Poll: http://www.gallup.com/poll/165548/approval-affordable-care-act-inches.aspx The Gold Party fully supports the bill to aid recovering veterans. We believe that a bill should be passed to provide assistance to the veterans. Their hard work and dedication to our country deserves to be appreciated and we need to return the favor. The Veterans Court would give veterans an opportunity to admit their crimes but in place of punishment, they would be sentenced to complete treatment offered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. They would not have a conviction on their record if they completed the program.

2. Utility Bill Assistance http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2010/12/02/hundreds_line_up_in_freezing_cold_f or_utility_bill_assistance.html

The Gold Party does not support the Utility Bill Assistance. We do not feel as though it would be appropriate to help pay peoples bills for them. If they are struggling to pay their bills then they need to apply for more work. The government should have no role in paying bills for others because it would require the taxation of others.

3. Franklin Road Improvement http://mdjonline.com/view/full_story/23929541/article-Mayor-explores-the-possiblefutures-of-Franklin-Road-?instance=secondary_story_left_column

The Gold Party completely supports the Franklin Road Improvement. This improvement will help improve everyday life in the community. There are many commercial benefits that would result from the Franklin Road Improvement project. Raised property values would directly result from this. If the voters approve the bond, then the city will be able to buy aging apartments and prepare them for redevelopment.

4. Death Penalty http://www.mdjonline.com/view/full_story/23887081/article-Ga--to-review-tough-deathrow-provision

Poll: http://mdjonline.com/view/full_story/23932673/article-New-court-in-central-Ga--aims-tohelp-veterans?instance=secondary_story_left_column

The Gold Party supports the implementation of the death penalty. We believe that this is an appropriate form of punishment for the crimes committed. There is no reforming the criminals that have committed such crimes. We don't believe that there is any reason to pay for their stay in prison when the death penalty would take care of their punishment.

5. Mayor Term Limits http://mdjonline.com/view/full_story/23929135/article-Term-Limits--Mayor-s-proposaldeserves-consideration?instance=home_editorial The Gold Party supports the Mayoral Term Limits. There should be limits on the amount of terms that a mayor can serve to give the city a better rotation of representatives. The president of the United States and the governor of Georgia are term-limited. That should be the case for the Marietta Mayor and Council as well.

Push Poll:
1. Would you vote a candidate if you knew they voted to deny veterans rights and aid? 2. Would you vote for a candidate if you knew that they would not support projects benefiting the local community? 3. Would you vote for a candidate who supports the death penalty? 4. Would you support a candidate who wants no limit on mayoral term limits? 5. Would you support a candidate who doesnt want to help the poor? 6. Would you support a candidate who allegedly cheated on his wife? 7. Would you support a candidate supports raising taxes?

Political Cartoons
This Political cartoon displays the grim reality of what happens to returning veterans. Although some situations differ from others the bill to help recovering veterans is similar to how it would help change things such as what is displayed in the cartoon. This is similar to our political ideology because we aim to help the veterans and hopefully avoid unemployment.

Although the specific names this political cartoon are not necessarily true to our state this shows how they support the 12 year term limit but the mayor is trying to stop them from it. This is very similar to our state of Georgia because we hope to pass a bill that limits the terms a mayor can serve office.
