Now there is a Spanish program suited to the energy, developmental level, and fun-loving nature of your primary (K-3rd) students! Song School Spanish is patterned after our best-selling Song School Latin curriculum and features thirty weekly lessons peppered with songs, enjoyable vocabulary, illustrations, handwriting practice, stories, games, and activities. Each book contains a lively musical CD featuring forty-two songs/chantsa delightful part of the program that reinforces the Spanish taught in the book. Students who learn from Song School Spanish will be more than prepared to continue their studies with the Spanish for Children series. The Song School Spanish Teachers Edition is sold separately and includes the entire Song School Spanish student text as well as answer keys, teachers tips, and fun ideas for interactive classroom activities. It also includes over forty pages (plus answer keys) of additional activities and worksheets for advanced students or those who simply want more Spanish study.
The Spanish for Children series teaches elementary students this dynamic language, both classically and creatively, at a time when students soak up language like sponges. Recommended for third grade and up, this book employs the pedagogy and structure of our popular Latin for Children series, combined with immersion-style dialogues and vocabulary. The Spanish for Children series emphasizes grammar and the parts of speech as vital tools for the correct speaking and understanding of Spanish. The texts also use lively chants to aid memorization of both grammar and vocabulary. Spanish for Children will be a three-year series. Spanish for Children, Primers A and B make up the first two years of the curriculum and are currently available.

Our goal with the SFC series is to teach students "why." We focus on the rules that govern the language and spend a large amount of time comparing Spanish and English grammar. In many ways the series doesn't teach just Spanish, it teaches how to go about learning a language in general. This is different from the "scenario-focused" approach of many other textbooks, where students learn vocabulary that relates to specific subjects, and then learn to discuss those subjects. While students using SFC do memorize vocabulary each week, using groups of related words to talk about various subjects and scenarios is "the icing on the cake"the "cake" being an understanding of the patterns of the Spanish language, knowing which word belongs where and why. -Spanish for Children Author Julia Kraut

Headventure Land is intended to be an educational playground where students can come to creatively practice their studies. We currently feature games, videos, stories and other resources to support students studying Latin, Spanish and Greek, particularly for students using curricula from Classical Academic Press. This web site will continue to grow as more content is created, and new subjects are added.
