Bangladesh Government has approved the national Pre-primary package (teachers guide-1, primer-1, charts-2, flash card-70, story

books-10, flip chart-1 and exercise book-1 with a list of play materials) on 3rd November-13, which will be in hands of more than 3.5 million pre-school children of Bangladesh from January 2014. All government and NGO pre-primary school will follow this package from January 14. Plan International Bangladesh has provided core technical support to NCTB and package development committee as a member of core technical committee to produce those. Quality Primary Education team of Plan International Bangladesh has arranged lots of technical meeting with NCTB and others to develop and finalize those. Great achievement is that all most all the content and materials of Plan pre-primary are mainstreamed through this government package. In other word, 70% of the contents and processes of national pre-primary package are from Plan pre-primary as the national package covered some other areas which were not included in any pre-primary curriculum in Bangladesh. NCTB is acknowledging Plans name and contributions in all printing materials so from January-14, 3.5 million pre-primary children of Bangladesh will be amazed to receive different materials and process that are developed by Plan. Really its amazing achievement for Bangladesh QPE team!

On 4 November-13, The Cabinet approved the Comprehensive ECCD policy, which is another milestone in the movement of ECCD in Bangladesh. This policy will influence the life of approximately 27 million children (from conception to 8 years) and their parents of Bangladesh in the areas of Health, Stimulation and development, Education, Nutrition, Protection, disaster risk reduction and so on. Bangladesh QPE team was key technical support provider to MOWCA for drafting and finalizing this policy. Advisor-QPE team has drafted the technical part of the policy including coordination mechanism which finally accepted by the core committee.
