Obesity has been to a serious issue in United States now, and fast food is a main factory of obesity. So, people argue about fast food every day and it is one of the most controversial topic in United States even in this world, which result that there are some people who hope government can get involve this problem and make laws to limit fast food. As a student who is studying nutrition, I really care about this problem and it can affect me a lot. For this project, I set two questions and they should be helpful for my research: (1). How fast food affects our life? (2). Should government limit fast food with law categories? Why? These two questions will be discussed in my research in order to let people know more details about fast food and how to consider about fast food in right ways. Until now, I have spent 2 weeks working on this research in midmonth October 2013. I found four sources for my annotation bibliography, three of them are posted in The New York Times newspaper, and the last one is peer review from my universitys website. So these article should be credible and helpful for my academic works.

The Lure of the Fast-Food Menu. Editorial. The New York Time July 4. 2013: Print. October 22, 2013. This article was found in opinion page of The New York Times. The editor collects and describes some different situations in order to show why people choose fast food rather than healthy food. From this article, there are three primary reasons which are collected from other researches or experiments: First, people would like to buy fast food because of vicarious goal fulfillment or hyperbolic discounting. Second, a part of people have a habit to get fast food rather than healthy food, and the calorie menu cannot deter them. Moreover, the taste of food is another important factory for peoples choice.

Even though there is no any author or editor of this article in websites, the data in this article are from some credible academic organization like Marion Nestle, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Institute of Medicine. In addition, this article was published in The New York Times at July 4,2013, so it should be current and trustable.

I learned some academic terms and those terms are helpful for me to understand some cases, and I get more trustable data and examples from this article. The most effective thing is that every result in this article are collected through doing a lot of experiments, so those cases really happen in common people, and results can stand for my audiences opinions about fast food.

Li4 Severson, Kim. Anti-Bloomberg Bill in Mississippi Bars Local Restrictions on Food and Drink. The New York Times, March 13, 2013. Web. October 23, 2013. This research article by Kim Severson was published in The New York Times, and it describes the argument of limiting fast food in Mississippi State in order to let more common people know more details in laws of fast food. The author supports his idea that limiting fast food with laws through some facts that laws have been complemented in other states. In addition, Kim posts some opinions from kinds of people who actually care about this problem, like the director of the Mississippi Hospitality and Restaurant Association.

This article should be credible because the facts exist right now, and those opinions of supporting are from people who are authoritative in this field. Furthermore, Kim Severson is the Atlanta bureau chief for The New York Times. Basically, there are two sides about food issues, one of them attempt to keep the old law and do not want government to involve it, and others prefer to let government change laws to limit fast food for healthy. However, the laws have been made up and approached by government, it has not been implemented. Moreover, some states like Florida, Arizona and Alabama have implemented laws for fast food. Actually, the information I get from this article is really helpful for my article because I know this problem is controversial in some states, and I get different ideas with fast food. The most important information I got is that there are actually some specific laws have been approached and implemented to deal with fast food problem, which support my ideas.
