MISSION STATEMENT

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission licenses and regulates medallion
taxicabs, for-hire vehicles and companies (bases), wheelchair-accessible vans, and the
drivers of these vehicles. The Commission makes and enforces rules and regulations that
govern these industries to safeguard the riding public from dishonest or unprofessional
conduct by drivers, and to promote safe, clean, readily available, and reputable
transportation services.
