Nanotechnology and Drug Delivery Nanotechnology is an industrial revolution, based on integration of disciplines that could change every face

of human life. Scientifically, nanotechnology is employed to describe materials, devices, and system with structures and components exhibiting new and significantly improved physical, chemical and biological properties at nanoscale. Nanotechnology has many impacts , liked it integrates all disciplines especially biomedicine, engineering and technology . In nanobiotechnology, drug delivery is new formulation for drug and gene therapies. Nanotechnology has benefits such as improvement on transport systems and other. But on the other side, nanotechnology has risks liked metals or metallic oxide have imflammatory and toxic effect on cells. Macro- and micro- had their risks, yet the benefits were accepted. Nanostructures have ability to protect drugs encapsulated within them from hydrolytic and enzymatic degradation. The challenges of most drug delivery systems include solubility, intestinal absorption and targeted delivery to site of action, side effects. However, nanotechnology in drug delivery is an approach designed to overcome these challenges. Nanotechnology can be applied to reformulate existing drug thereby extending product lives, enhance their performance, improve the acceptability by increasing effectiveness.
