Music album poster analysis 2

For the gig poster for Rise Againsts album Endgame, the poster is largely dominated by a red backdrop red may be indicating danger or blood which may suggest the genre of music Rise Against make. The red backdrop also helps to create a contrast for the white writing at the bottom of the poster and that suggests some importance too (red symbolizing danger and the white writing placed above danger) The typography for the poster is demanding and looks as if it was making a bold statement, helping to divert the viewers attention to the band name. The text is the largest at the top of the poster, and then gradually gets smaller the further down the poster you go which draws attention to the text and suggests importance. The band name itself Rise Against suggests some kind of revolution

This tree in the middle could represent the tree of life, as it is right in the centre of the poster and we are naturally drawn to it.

The poster also includes the Rise Against logo, which is recognizable among fans and makes it easy to identify. The actual background for the poster looks like an abandoned town of some sort, as if something bad has happened there long ago which supports the idea that red represents danger. This is representative of the type of music Rise Against which is Rock, which has a lot of references to danger and violence.

The beige background contrasts with the red backdrop very effectively and has similar connotations. This shade of light brown is often seen in old war photographs and footage and it also looks like smog, which is generally associated with polluted areas.
