How to Print Using Secure Print Release


Select File and Print as you do currently in your software and choose one of the following queues:
Equitrac Printing

Mono on staff.printing.soton.ac.uk Colour on staff.printing.soton.ac.uk


For printing properties please see pages 15 to 20

Black and White printing? Use the Mono queue Colour printing? Use the Colour queue Print jobs will be held in the queue for 4 hours.

Go to your nearest MFD

Place your University ID card on the card reader attached to the device or enter your University username and password on the screen and select Login

Select the My Prints button on the screen

Select the Details button to view number of pages and cost information

Select the jobs you wish to print or press Select All

If a print job is no longer required select the relevant job and select Delete

Select the Start button to commence printing

Select the Access button on the keypad twice to log out or Select the Job End button to return to the Copy screen

If the Access button is pressed more than TWICE a message stating No secondary PIN stored will appear select OK

How to cancel a job once you have started printing


1. Select Job Details

Select the Job Details button and select Delete

Printing Incorrect Paper Sizes


The following screen may appear if the wrong paper size has been selected in the printing preferences or the software application:

Select the Paper Tray Setting button

Select the relevant paper tray containing the paper you wish to print out on

Select the Start button to commence printing

Copying at the device

Place your University ID card on the card reader attached to the device or enter your University username and password on the screen and select Login Select the Copy button Place your originals in the document feeder or on the glass Enter the number of copies required using the keypad To create a double-sided copy select Duplex/Combine and select the required setting

Select OK

When copying on the glass once you have pressed Start and you have scanned all required pages select Finish and press Start again to commence printing.

Select the Start button to commence copying

Select the Access button on the keypad twice to log out

Scanning at the device

Place your University ID card on the card reader attached to the device or enter your University username and password on the screen and select Login Select the Fax/Scan button Place your originals in the document feeder or on the glass

Select the Scan Folder destination from the screen 2-sided original? Select Scan Settings and change the settings

Select the Start button to commence scanning Select the Access button on the keypad twice to log out

Printing Single Sided


Select File and Print as you do currently in your software and select a print queue Select Properties or Printer Properties (depending on your application)

Select the Layout tab Click on 2-sided and from the drop down menu select 1-sided Select OK and OK

Printing on different paper sizes


Including A3 and envelopes

Select File and Print as you do currently in your software and select a print queue Select Properties or Printer Properties (depending on your application)

Select the Basic tab

Select the required paper size under the Original Size drop down menu (Envelope settings can also be found here) Select OK and OK
The machines paper trays will contain A4 and A3 paper as standard. Alternative paper may be placed in the bypass tray of the machine (see page 18)

Printing using the bypass tray


Different types of media can be placed in the bypass tray e.g. Letterheads and labels
Please Note: Sheets of labels may only be used in the machine once

Select File and Print as you do currently in your software and select a print queue Select Properties or Printer Properties (depending on your application)

Letter headed paper is to be inserted in a portrait orientation (with the long edge of the paper touching the machine), with the logo face down and towards the rear of the machine

Select the Basic tab Select the required paper size under the Original Size drop down menu

Select the Bypass Tray from the Paper Tray drop down menu Select OK and OK

At the machine insert the media into the bypass tray on the right hand side of the machine

Printing Booklets
Select File and Print as you do currently in your software and select a print queue Select Properties or Printer Properties (depending on your application)

Select the Layout tab Click on the Print Type drop down menu and select Booklet Select OK and OK

Printing Stapled Documents


Select File and Print as you do currently in your software and select a print queue Select Properties or Printer Properties (depending on your application)

Select the Finish tab Tick the Staple function and select the staple position from the drop down menu Select OK and OK

Collating Function
The driver is set to automatically collate your documents when printing. You can change the setting to offset your pages by following the steps below.

Select File and Print as you do currently in your software and select a print queue Select Properties or Printer Properties (depending on your application)

Select the Basic tab

Select Offset
Select OK and OK
