Old Mill Ministries continues to work toward opening Charitoo Caf. We are working with individuals and corporate sponsors to acquire donations necessary to fund the completion of this project. Because we are an outreach church, our operational cost is high. The Coffeehouse will help provide and assist in the financial burden of the ministry and it will provide a place for our teens and young adults to fellowship. The Community Kitchen will provide for anyone in need of a free lunch. Donations will be accepted, but not required. The Community Kitchen will be another Old Mill Ministries Outreach and will not only help to feed the hungry, but will also provide opportunities to minister to the emotional and spiritual needs of this community. If you would like to consider being a part of this outreach endeavor, please contact Andy Zeggert at 423-291-2510 or andy@oldmillministries.org .
NOTE: Charitoo is a Greek word that describes who we are Highly Favored, Greatly Blessed, Full of Grace And Deeply Loved.

Back to School Bash 2013 Saturday, July 27

OLD MILL MINISTRIES 6th annual Back to School Bash was a great success!!! It was Gods people demonstrating Gods love.... fulfilling Gods command: For the poor shall never cease out the land; therefore, I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land. (Deut. 15:11) Even though the day began with some heavy rain, it was filled with a lot of excitement and fun at the Old Mill Music Park in Laurel Bloomery.. The Old Mill Ministries Back-ToSchool Bash 2013 reached out to children and teens in Johnson County and the surrounding area. Even though the day began with rain, our records show that over seven hundred children, youth, and adults registered as guest for this event. We provided 450 book bags filled with most of the supplies needed to start the school year off right. The book bags made up for the youth also included a package of hygiene products donated by one of our supporters, Charles and Mary Ellen Leatherman from Vale, NC. Many of the children received door prizes in addition to the book bags. The arbor was a little crowded because of the morning rain, but when the sun peaked through the clouds, some of the folks moved outside for the out-door fun. The children enjoyed horseback rides and a bouncy house. Others posed for a portrait painting by Rick Bellamy. Many of the boys and girls sat for face painting that was done by some of the youth workers. Several local Gospel and Bluegrass groups and two youth groups entertained adults and children alike while they enjoyed a hotdog lunch with all the trimmings plus ice tea, orange drink and bottled water as well as free popcorn and snowcones. Also, lightly used clothes, shoes and some household items were available for the taking. A special program of singing and speakers completed the day. Then Andy and Lisa Zeggert distributed the book bags to all the children attending. If you were not able to attend this event, you missed a great day. The cost of an outreach of this magnitude takes a considerable amount of financial support as well as coordinating and hard work from many volunteers. The Old Mill Ministries Outreach was blessed this year with many local youth and adult workers and we even had a youth group from Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Vale, NC. We express our gratitude to all who helped make this Back-ToSchool Bash a success.... without our volunteers it would be impossible. Together we are making a difference in the lives of people in Northeast Tennessee. It is our hope and prayer that all attending this years Old Mill Ministries Back-To-School Bash received a blessing and enjoyed the day.. and had plenty to eat and drink. We are already making plans for the 2014 Old Mill Ministries Backto-School Bash!

Comments and Quotes from Old Mill Ministries Outreach Volunteers

As a 6 year volunteer with Old Mill Ministries, I have seen first-hand the work that gets put into the Back-To-School Bash Outreach. This year was the best ever! Watching hundreds of children and teens receive an abundance of school supplies was awesome! I really enjoy welcoming the community to this event. Providing lunch, fun things to do, entertainment, in addition to the opportunity to receive Gods truth through great speakers is a joy! So much work goes into this event, and many families look forward to it each year. I know the school supplies are much needed. Thanks to everyone who came and especially to the businesses that have contributed to make this event successful! Jill Lowe, Mooresville, NC It is always such a joy to be involved with this beautiful outreach there is such a feeling of joy as I see the smiles on everyones face showing the Love of God is so rewarding. MISSIONS
Missions Trip/Retreat to Myrtle Beach, SC May 25 June 1, 2013
Hands-on Work: We arrived at Shallotte, NC midday Saturday morning and promptly started working on the home of Pat Kersey, one of the leaders of His Hands Reaching Ministry, a ministry reaching out to bikers. We also raked leaves at an elderly womans home in the area. Teaching the Word of God: Each evening we reflected how God touched us that day and how God provided opportunities to witness and minister to someone new each day of our trip. Our teachings was based on Matthew 25:31-46 for I was hungry, and you fed me: I was thirsty and you gave me drink: for what you do to the least of these, you do unto Me. Baptism on the Beach: On Monday, we gathered at the beach to participate in a Baptism Service. We quickly noticed some people gathering to witness the event. One person came up and gave words of encouragement. He also had wrist bands with the Psalms 91:4 printed on the bands. Psalms 91:4 says He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shall you trust; His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Feeding the Homeless: On Tuesday, we went to Chapin Memorial Park, right in the middle of the city of Myrtle Beach, SC. We arrived at the park and immediately Brad and Matthew started playing are doing to get out. We made sure they knew that God loved them and they were not forgotten. Worked at Community Kitchen: Thursday, we worked at the Community Kitchen. This is an awesome soup kitchen that serves over 300 lunches each day. We saw several of the same people we had met at the park and they were so excited to see us. We each had one or two special people that we were able to minister to and they have left a life changing impression on our hearts. We left Myrtle Beach changed people, with a deeper appreciation for what we haveour homes and our family. music; we scattered about reaching out to the multitude of homeless people in the park and invited them to join us. Our group ate lunch with these men and women who just wanted someone to talk to, without judgment or being looked down upon. They wanted to share their story of how they became homeless and what they

Saturday: Arrived at Ambassadors to the Nations in Charlotte, NC. This ministry is part of Freedom Ministries and has churches, missionaries, schools and hospital clinics mostly in Central America and specific locations around the world. (You can visit them on the web @ www.ambassadorstothenations.com for more information) We enjoyed helping Darry and Karen Jollie pack items for the children they reach out to. Sunday Morning: We went to Pastor Andy & Lisas home church, Freedom Christian Center of Mooresville, NC. Our Praise and Worship Team ushered in the presence of God and Pastor Andy shared a message from God before inviting people to the Alter for Prayer. It was a wonderful time and we want to thank the FCC, Mooresville family for a wonderful service. Sunday Evening: Dr. Dean Melton to have programs in place. .. Childrens Church, Life Groups (traditional Sunday school classes but different nights, locations, etc.), Youth Activities, etc We need to be thinking about space and how we will manage this growth. We know that programs do not bring people to church but programs do keep people coming back. We must have programs for all ages and they must be high quality, relevant and in line with our values and beliefs. We must have life groups and activities and a place to plug in each and every person that walks through our front door. We must put systems in place not to box us in with rules and regulations, but rather a map for growth and success. Take the words no-cant-impossible-too hard away from your vocabulary because everything is possible with the Lord.
