During the week of September 16th through the 20th in the Circle Classroom, the children learned about bubbles. The developmental objectives were to learn how bubbles move as well as to learn where we see bubbles in our day to day activities. Displayed are how the children explored and engaged in activities that were centered around and mimicked bubbles.

Circle Time
Grant (4 months) was laying on his tummy and was feeling the texture of the bubble wrap. Isaac (5 months) was laying on his back watching the way the balloon floated back and forth; mimicking the way a bubble floats.

Liam (8 months) and Gabriel (9 months) were exploring the texture of the balloon as well as discovering what happens when they grasp the string and release.

The children listened to the story Goodnight Baby. We engaged in conversation about seeing bubbles in the bathtub. I asked the children where else The children helped me sing the song do we see bubbles There Was a Little ?and Lucas (36 Turtle as we months) said clapped along to the dishes! song together. The children listened to the story While You Were Sleeping and helped me count the animals on the pages.

Ella (26 months) used different types of fabric to put on her contact paper to mimic the bubbles.

Berenger (17 months) used the paint brush to brush the water color paint onto the coffee filter.

Maggie (24 months) used her hands to manipulate the shaving cream to create a sculpture.

Lucas (36 months) pained with blue water color on his dried shaving cream sculpture.

Gross Motor
Rada (36 months) and Lucas (36 months) were jumping up and down on the bubble wrap. They had smiles on their faces as the bubble wrap popped on their feet. They used their whole bodies to do this activity. Lucas (36 months), Rada (36 months) and I listened to classical music and danced like bubbles. We made a large bubble together using our arms. When I counted to three, we popped the big bubble and fell to the ground.

Lucas (36 months) blew bubbles and chased them outside. Every time Lucas popped one with his finger he said the word POP

Liam (8 months) reached down to grasp the bowl in the soapy water.

Isaac (5 months) was able to put his feet into the soapy water. He kicked the water and made a splash.

Maggie,(24 months) Rada (36months) and Lucas (36 months) worked together in cleaning the dishes.

Ella (26 months) scooped the water into the pot. She then poured the water out of the pot and into the table. She repeated this process many times.

Ella (26 months) put on the robe after she pretended to take a bath. After she put the robe on, she put the slippers on her feet.
SE.1.19 Claim objects as mine. SE.1.31 Show curiosity in objects and sounds. SE.1.40 Enjoy simple pretend play.

Maggie (24 months) dressed in a hairnet and apron while playing in the toy kitchen. She put the blanket on the table and then put play dishes on top of the table.
