Sit down firmly in your seat in a comfortable posture ? Bring your vertebral column, body, head and neck in a straight line ? Hold the body steady without movement ? Keep the body still and become extremely conscious that the body is not moving ? Watch you mind ? When thoughts come, shift your attention back to the body ? Practice for 2-3 days Exercise 2 Use the mantra to occupy the mind ? Command the mind to chant the mantra (not verbally) ? Make the mind chant - you are not chanting ? Slowly chant and become aware of each mantra rising and slowly disappearing ? Do not do it mechanically - be aware of what you are doing ? Repeat chanting 20 times Exercise 3 Learn to keep one thought exclusively ? Let your mind chant the mantra loudly as if talking to someone across the room ?

Have your mind chant the mantra as if talking to a neighbor through the window ? Slowly let your mind chant louder and louder - sweep away all other thoughts ? Chant the mantra (mentally) before going to sleep ? Think of the mantra when you wake up ? Keep yourself away and witness the chanting of the mantra - job for the mind to do ? The mind is a mighty force, but it can be controlled Exercise 5 Neutralize agitations through forgiveness ? Mind is "wounded" by interactions with the world, which leads to anger, hatred, etc. ? Often small, silly things upset us ? These are a sources of disturbance during contemplation (path-to-meditation) ? Forgive those who have offended you ? Ask for forgiveness from those you have offended ? Wash off all hatred and anger with total love for all - Forgive All ? Contemplation for 15 mins (10 mins preparation + 5 mins contemplation) ? DO NOT OVERDO
