TELEPHONE DONATION SOLICITATIONS

Over the past several days the Bel Air Volunteer Company has received complaints from
concerned citizens about phone solicitations originating from “Maryland Fire
Association” with a telephone number of 443-231-6735. These solicitors stated that the
donations collected would benefit the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company (BAVFC).

While the cause may sound plausible and worthy it is important to note that the Bel Air
Volunteer Fire Company does not solicit donations via telephone. The BAVFC also has
no legal contracts or is otherwise tied to any type of soliciting group. All requests for
donations from the BAVFC are done via US mail and contain specific department contact
information if further inquiries are needed by the recipient.

Please be cognizant of these types of calls for donations. If you receive a call please do
not give any personal information to these callers. Hang up immediately and contact the
Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company immediately at the number listed above.
