    New regulations proposed in New York would effectively ban McDonald's from operating in the city. Citing arguments that McDonald's food is as dangerous as illegal drugs, officials are moving to place many menu items on the prohibited substances list. This new scheduling of what officials call dangerous substances that lead to crime and death would make it illegal for McDonald's to operate in the city unless they drastically change their menu. City officials refused to comment on the effectiveness of such a ban, stating only that "if you peddle dangerous substances in this city, you will be prosecuted."
