Clinical Experience
Level II Fieldwork Gratiot/Isabella RESD Experience with pediatric/school based rehab. Performing evaluations, writing goals, planning interventions, implementing interventions, writing IEPs, and team meetings. Patients ages 5-10 Conditions treated include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, children with fine motor difficulties, visual perceptual difficulties, cognitively impaired, and severely multiply impaired children. During this experience I was a member of the Autism Spectrum Disorder team in which we would observe, evaluate and determine if students were ASD eligible in the school system. Experience with Handwriting without Tears during this fieldwork placement and we implemented this system with many of the children that we treated. Experience with utilizing the BEERY VMI evaluation, Sensory Profile Questionnaire and the DTVP-2 for children. I would administer, score and interpret the results of these evaluations. I became familiar with behavior plans that the school system had in place such as using a break strip, using visuals, and introduction to CPI techniques. Experience with sensory processing disorders and sensory integration techniques and strategies.

Level II Fieldwork

Medilodge of Montrose Experience with geriatric population inpatient rehab. Performing evaluations, writing goals, planning interventions, implementing interventions, performing home evaluations and determining discharge dates. Patients ages 60-90 Conditions treated include CVA, hip replacement, knee replacement, cardiac disorders, general debility, BLE amputations, injuries due to falls, Alzheimers disease and other neurological disorders. Experience with using physical modalities. Experience with supervising COTAs at this placement. Experience with performing home evaluations at this placement, giving patients recommendations and determining where the patients would be discharged to. Experience with interdisciplinary practice and the importance of working as a team in order to give our patients the best therapy possible. Attended Medicare meetings at this fieldwork placement so that we could all be up to date on the patients and our plan in order to serve the patients best. Camp Cardinal Kidz Experience with pediatric based outpatient rehab Performing evaluations, writing goals, writing notes, planning interventions, implementing interventions. Patients ages 5-10 Conditions treated include Autism Spectrum Disorder and Aspergers Syndrome. Experience with gross motor, fine motor and sensory integration treatment strategies. MidMichigan Medical Center Experience with neurological based inpatient and outpatient rehab Performing evaluations, writing goals, writing notes, writing charges, planning interventions, implementing interventions, re-evaluating patients. Patients ages 20-60 Conditions treated include CVA, TBI, hip replacement, knee replacement, and Parkinsons disease. Experience with the LGBT Big program for Parkinsons disease.
