Research begins with a question in the mind of the researcher. Research requires a plan. Research demands a clear statement of the problem. Research deals with the main problem through sub-problems.

Task 2

Explain and justify the approach Alicia has employed.

Interpretive
Aim : To understand why the students are having the misconception and ways to overcome it. Contextualised : The teacher knows what problem to focus on and how to tackle it (use methods that are suitable to the students)
The researcher (teacher) is the independent participant because it is part of the classroom circle.

Task 3

What are some of the ethical issues that Alicia should consider in planning her research?

 The teacher should appreciate the students prior knowledge by blatantly saying they are completely wrong. Instead, the teacher must professionally use her expertise by correcting the students misconception (using various appropriate methods). The teacher should not expect the students to understand everything straight away in one go. Instead the teacher should use step by step implementation of action.
