THE APPLICATION OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL (PBL) IN IMPROVING STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES ON HUMAN EXCRETORY SYSTEM IN CLASS

XI IPA 3 SMA NEGERI 3 BINJAI ACADEMIC YEAR 2012/2013

Fadillah Salha Daulay (409441012) ABSTRACT This research aimed to improve student learning outcomes in class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 3 Binjai learning by Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in biology. The subject of research was all student in class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 3 Binjai academic year 2012/2013. This research designed in the form of class action. Student learning outcomes measured by student passing grade percentage technique, individual and classical technique. Means of student learning outcomes after the I cycle was 80,17 and after the II cycle was 91,67. It shown that student learning improvement was success in this research as much 11,5 %. The classical passing grade in cycle I was 85% (34 sstudents have passed) and in the II cycle was 100% (40 students passed). This research result prove that learning biology by using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can improve student learning outcomes in class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 3 Binjai,academic year 2012/2013.
