February 10, 2014 Dear Parents or Guardians: I am writing to inform you that your students artwork has been

selected for exhibition in the School Board of Alachua Countys Visual Arts Showcasing Program. This program is designed to share the excellence of student art with the community. Representative artwork is selected from the schools in Alachua County. The work begins the showcasing circuit with a display at the Thomas Center Mezzanine Gallery where the student artists are honored with an opening reception and awarded certificates. It has been a pleasure having your student artist in class, and being able to actively share in their artistic accomplishments. I am proud to say that their artwork represents some of the best work in the school district. The artwork will be displayed at the Thomas Center from February 15 March 29, 2014. The Secondary Art awards ceremony and opening night reception for student artists, their parents, friends, and family will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Thomas Center, 302 NE Sixth Avenue, Gainesville. Viewing of the artwork begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Youth Art Gallery. The awards program will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. followed by refreshments.
