The Make Up of Matter does Matter!

By Raelynn ! Matter is a solid, liquid, and gas. Also, matter takes up space. It cannot be created or destroyed. Matter can be living or nonliving objects? Not all matter is visible. Everything is made up of matter. When you mix two independent pieces of matter it becomes a mixture or a compound. Matter is made of molecules. The more mass an object has the more matter it has. Matter takes up space. All matter has a reaction. In conclusion, everything is either a solid, liquid, or gas.! ! The pH can be measured in everything we drink. The pH level changes because of the substances in the liquid. The lower pH levels have more acid. I learned that when we tested the substances only a few of the tests had a different pH level. We notice all of the substances that had a pH level of four had caffeine in it. Also, all but one of the substances containing water had a pH level of ve. We found that real lemon was the only substance that had a pH level of three. The mode of all the substances was four. The average pH is a pH of six because it's saliva. For example, when Jack drinks hot sauce ( which has vinegar in it so it's a pH level of two) his pH level changed, and it gave him a heart burn, He took some TUMS which has a pH level of nine. All TUMS really do is stabilizes your pH level. When you go to the ocean if you drink salt water all it does is dehydrate you instead of hydrate you. We found that the amount of vinegar you add to the steel wool affects the temperature. When we increased the amount of vinegar, the temperature rose. All in all, the pH level can be measured in the substances we drink.! Thermal energy had to do with temperature. We found that the amount of vinegar you add to the steel wool affects the temperature. The insulation and heat from the furnace keeps my house warm. A furnace privies heat because wood, charcoal, propane, water geothermal, oil, natural gas, solar, and biomass. Inside my body my heart pumps making heat for my blood, motion energy from cells and digestion create heat. Temperature will change with activity caused by reaction.! Magnetic elds come in a variety of sizes. Basically, there isa magnetic eld around our earth that keeps the earth from being exposed from being exposed to intense sun rays. When we put the magnet under the bag that had the if on shavings they were attracted to the magnets in a pattern. Scientists have collected shards of pottery over the centuries scientists tested the magnetic pull to see how strong the magnetic eld back then. They compared it to now. In conclusion, We can not always see the magnetic elds such as black holes. ! These sciences Mendeleev, Curie, and Borlaug had there own special talents. Mendeleev created the rst periodic table. Curie died from radiation due to her discoveries of, polonium, and radium. Borlaug spent 40 years helping people around the world to not starve of hunger after he worked 20 years in creating high protein wheat. These scientists made improvements to the world.! The periodic table helps us to identify the elements. Coal is an element from the periodic table have an atomic number which is the number of protons. The elements themselves are categorized by halogens, Nobel gasses, metalloids, and others. Another way to put them in groups is solid, liquid, gas, and unknown. We know more elements will be discovered, and the periodic table has been modied since Mendeleev's table. Over all, we have learned more about matter. !
