1. Stalin and Truman had both different visions and ideologies for Germany after WWII. Explain Stalins and Trumans vision. 2 points
Stalin intended to destroy Germanys industrial capabilities in order to prevent the country from remilitarizing and wanted Germany to pay outrageous sums in war reparations. Truman, however, wanted exactly the opposite. He believed that only industrialization and democracy in Germany and throughout the continent would ensure postwar stability.

The Marshall plan was a way to help rebuild Europe after WWII. Though it was meant to help the badly damaged Europe recover, it was also meant to prevent communism from gaining a stronghold in war torn countries.

After World War II both the United States and the Soviet Union realized how important rocket research would be to the military.

Both sides had plenty of failures including crashes and explosions that resulted in the death of several astronauts.
