OBJECTIVE: To obtain a position as a secondary Social Studies teacher at a school where I can work with students to maximize academic potential and support critical thinking and historical analysis skills. WORK EXPERIENCE Student Teacher, Compton High School, Compton, California September 2013-present th Teach a class of 35 students in 10 grade World History under the supervision of Ryan Hensman. Create interactive lesson plans, develop project based culminating projects, and assist students with reading comprehension, writing, use of academic language, critical analysis, and use of textual evidence to build and support arguments. Support student learning, sustain a safe and caring classroom environment, and encourage student achievement. Teacher, Hollywood College, Los Angeles, California October 2012-July 2013 Taught 70 international ESL students at four different ability levels reading and comprehension skills. Assisted students in discussing and understanding written materials, encouraged speaking skills, helped integrate new words into student vocabularies, fostered a supportive learning experience, and created interactive and culturally relevant lessons.
