SPECIAL GUEST BIOS Yoga, Denese Cavanaugh Info (Lower Gym): Denese Cavanaugh ERYT-500-Yoga Alliance Registered, approaches

yoga from both an intellectual and creative perspective, infusing her classes with mindfulness, a playful spirit, and a connection to the heart. Denese proclaims, "Opening to Yoga", is the most enriching and invaluable tool for continual self-discovery. She has traveled to Italy and India during her yogic journey. Her many teaching styles include Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series, Iyengar Alignment inspired, Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga, Restorative, Prenatal and Kids Yoga. Yoga has helped Denese uncover her most joyful, most authentic version of herself. She is humbled and grateful to her yoga teachers for sharing their unbounded insight and generosity, and is honored to also share that generous evolution with others. Graffiti DC Info (Upper Gym): A poetry slam series presented and sponsored by Beny Blaq Entertainment. Now in its 3rd season, GDC goes down every 4th wednesday of the month at LIV nightclub in the heart of historic U st. 8 poets each month compete at a chance for $1000 Grand Prize, with scores from 5 judges randomly picked from the audience. GraffitiDC is also a collective of 5 spoken word artists, dedicated to the intersection of poetry, message and entertainment. GDC provides an interactive experience with music and poetry, a "Spoken Word Party" as we like to call it, where the audience is just as much a part of the show! "Slam Poetry is...the Art of War" at GraffitiDC.

Meditation, Meghan Mulvena Info (Lower Gym): Meghan Mulvenna has been practicing meditation for over 12 years. She began with Vipassana, or Insight Meditation, while living in Vermont in her mid-twenties. This provided her with the invaluable tool of tapping into the present moment experience. After 10 years, she transitioned into Raja Yoga meditation, an open-eyed meditation which focuses in part on the divine virtues of the soul and how manifesting these can transform our relationship with others. She currently spends part of her time volunteering at the Meditation Museum in Silver Spring, where her spiritual teacher, Sister Jenna, is the director.
