Discovered how to access school blocked websitesYouTube, Shelfari.com, etc. Practiced setting up cloud storage space and accessing it on all my devices so my documents are available for when I teach no matter where I am at Watched several YouTube videos and read Help documents found from a Google Search on how to set up groups and manage communication with members in the group. Sent out invitations to instructors to join Viewed teacher-made videos on YouTube on flipping the classroom Read preface and first chapter to gain an understanding how the constructivist theory works with technology in an educational setting Chapter 2 talks about learning by exploring with technology Explored the equipment and set up for technology in the ASU classroom in which I teach. Did a test run on hooking up my laptop and playing a DVD Explored the weebly website, created a test weebly website by putting in pictures, text, links, changing backgrounds, etc. Chapter 2 talks about using video for visualizing with Technology I succeeded in getting all the instructors to sign up for Edmodo. I posted some questions to get them to start talking with each other. Put together an activity that incorporated using an episode from Andy Griffith show to teach TAP rubric and connect it with an existing assignment In anticipation of setting up and using my new iPad, I am reading through this book and making notes on things to do once I receive the device. Downloaded Movie Maker to my desktop, practiced by putting together a short video with pictures, text, and a sound track Viewed tutorial videos by LeeAnn Lindsey on how to use weebly. Set up a website shell for my portfolio for my LTL portfolio and put in some content Started adding and uploading content to my LTL weebly. Started a personal weebly on being vegan Spent time a Best Buy, talking to customer service reps on how to personalize my usage of the iPad. Bought extensions to the vga cable and the rca audio cord to provide more mobility. Bought a larger wireless keyboard Researched and purchased Backbone accessory to provide more mobility while using the iPad Did a trial run using the iPad and wireless keyboard to show a YouTube video in class. Backup plan with laptop in case it didnt work. Everything went well. Finished reading book. Made a to-do list to get iPad up-to-date on apps, security, etc.
