Citron is a new five-level apartment community consisting of 222 units with efficiency, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. Depending on the elevation, many of the apartments on the top level are lofts. Covered parking is available for 147 cars in the one-level below-grade parking structure. Citron was designed and constructed to achieve LEED Silver Certified standards. The wood-frame structures exterior is articulated with two colors of brick with cast stone accents. Additionally, aluminum balcony railings are used extensively to give the building a concrete-frame look. Amenities at Citron include a cyber caf, fitness room, club room, concierge, swimming pool, bike storage, and a private courtyard with fountains, a fire pit, and a waterfall. Located in downtown Silver Spring, Citron is near a variety of shopping, dining, entertainment, and transportation options including the DC Metro, MARC rail, and bus and taxi services. Citron is also adjacent to the new Silver Spring Veterans Plaza which includes outdoor space for community concerts, public events, and veteran memorial services, and also a pavilion for seasonal ice skating.
