Welcome to Second Grade!!!

Dear Parents or Guardians, I am very EXCITED about working with your child this year!! First, let me start by introducing myself. My name is Margaret ess, I grew u! in this area, and now I am ha!!y to be a !art of a learning environment for our children here. I graduated from the "niversity of Phoeni# with my $ssociates of $rts in %lementary %ducation then continued on with my &achelors degree in 'ommunications with em!hasis on 'ultural 'ommunications. I have com!leted the necessary trainings, tests, and e#ams needed to become a successful (eacher in the )tate of (e#as. I have been married for *+ years and have , boys. (his year we will focus on vocabulary, reading, math, and )ocial )tudies. I have !lanned many wonderful activities throughout the course of the year that will hel! your child be academically successful! It is im!ortant that you and your child be informed of my classroom rules and e#!ectations so everyone knows what is e#!ected. I have always found !arents to be very su!!ortive of good classroom behavior so their child has a good environment for ma#imum learning. If your child develo!s any difficulty conforming to the rules, I will notify you. $s well, I ho!e that you will advise me if at any time your child has a !roblem, academic, social, or emotional. )hould your child become discouraged or fearful about school, !lease communicate with me so that we can discover the cause of the !roblem. -ules and e#!ectations will be sent home on the first day of school and will need to be signed by both you and your child as I will also have these rules and e#!ectations !osted in our classroom. (here will be homework every night e#ce!t on Fridays. omework will need to be turned in daily and we will have a take home folder that will need to be checked daily as well. %very Friday you will see homework graded and returned in your 'hilds folder for your review. .ou are invited to !hone me or visit the school any time that you have a /uestion concerning your child0s !rogress.
